Vista Abejo Fire
At 1154, APD called our Alarm requesting units to respond to a residential structure fire in the 600 block of Vista Abejo Dr NE. All occupants self evacuated prior to our arrival.
Once units arrived, they found fire shooting out of the 2nd floor patio and roof. Units entered the home and proceeded up the stairs and were pushed back by smoke and flame.
After they completed their primary search for victims, the IC pulled the units out of the building because of collapse potential. Thirty seconds after crews exited the home, a partial roof collapse occurred.
The fire was fought defensively and once crews got a hold of the fire, entered the building to complete extinguishment. Fire was extinguished within 40 min with no injuries reported. The home is a total loss.
A person of interest is being interviewed by Fire Investigation.
