Reminder to replace batteries today

When changing clocks back one hour today, it's a perfect time to replace the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.  Smoke alarms should be placed on every level of the home, inside each bedroom, and outside sleeping areas. For safety tips, go to www.cabq.gov/fire

Free Smoke Alarms to Qualifying ABQ Citizens

To quality for smoke alarms, citizens must:
* Own a home in the city of Albuquerque and be 65 years or older OR
* Own a home in the city of Albuquerque and have a visual or hearing impairment

To qualify for the Safe Awake alerting system, citizens must:
* Be an Albuquerque resident and have a hearing impairment
