AFD units responded to a residential structure fire this morning at 4:00am on the 10000 Block of Docena NW. When units arrived on scene, they noticed light smoke coming from the home.
Units entered the home to investigate through the front door and found the fire was in the space between the 1st and 2nd floor. The fire was quickly extinguished. The home was unoccupied at the time.
Once the fire was extinguished, crews noticed several suspicious plants located in the 2nd floor bedrooms. APD's Narcotic's Division was called in and they are investigating the incident.
Fire and smoke damage to the 2nd floor bedrooms.
No injuries.
The home has been marked substandard by the city's Nuisance Abatement Team.
The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by AFD's Fire Investigation Division.
